I understand why designers get defensive about Canva. I do. It makes design feel easy, and graphic design is not always easy.
But also, most people using Canva are not trying to replace designers. They are trying to make a bake sale poster, a birthday invite, a school announcement, or a quick Instagram story without crying into a blank artboard.
A bad design made in Illustrator is still a bad design.
The tool is not the crime scene. The choices are.
Canva can make ugly things. So can Photoshop. So can InDesign. So can someone with a design degree and too much confidence.
I think the real problem is not Canva existing. The problem is pretending software is what makes someone good.
